Chief Advisor to the President on Religious Affairs, Apostle Timothy Khoviwa, has called on religious institutions across Malawi to promote unity, love and hope while working hand in hand with government and communities to advance national development.

Khoviwa made the appeal on Sunday during the official opening and dedication of the K800 million Ebenezer Evangelistic Assemblies of God Mission Church at Jombajomba in Chitipa District.

He said churches play a vital role in fostering peace, moral values and social transformation, urging congregations to use places of worship as centres of hope, spiritual guidance and prayer for the country's continued development.

Khoviwa also commended Archbishop Silent Mtambo for his leadership, which has seen the church expand its ministry and positively impact communities.
The church building was constructed over a period of nine years through contributions from members. Archbishop Mtambo encouraged fellow religious leaders to remain committed to their vision and continue supporting community development initiatives across the country.
